Project duration: 01 January 2019 – 31 December 2021

Objective:

This project is closely linked to the EIT labelled master programme – EMerald – that has now been running for five years. It aims on one hand to complement the master by financing activities integrating an important entrepreneurship component to enhance the training of T-Shape engineers and, on the other hand, to make the master more visible and attractive worldwide by financing student grants and promotional material.

The solution (technology):

This project is the complementary project of the EMerald master course (labelled by the EIT) and is coordinated by four EU Universities: ULiège, UL (Nancy), LTU ( Lulea) and TUBAF (Freiberg). The main objective of the EMerald master course is to educate young engineers with a strong entrepreneurial mindset to develop the innovative processes and efficient uses of mineral/metal resources required to move towards a more circular economy. The project aims at strengthening the training of T-shaped engineers and enhancing students’ exposure to the European raw materials industrial sector and its challenges. It will also help promote the programme and increase its attractiveness among international students and professors by organizing a series of activities (Business School, virtual microscopy platform, job day etc). Moreover, every student enrolled in the master programme will have the opportunity to be awarded a travel and subsistence allowance as well as an AVSA grant.
