SUMMARY:RawMaterials University Day at the University of Zagreb
DESCRIPTION:The University of Zagreb in Croatia is the organizer of this year’s Innovation Hub CLC East edition of the RawMaterials University Days. The overarching theme is potential\, importance\, education and employment in the raw materials sector. The day will kick off with an opening event at the University of Zagreb rectorate building\, which will be live streamed and followed by a press conference. Following this\, simultaneous thematic events will start at 6 locations\, both within Zagreb as well as in the towns of Varaždin and Sisak. The varied thematic programme will offer 14 laboratory tours\, 12 interactive exercises\, six tours through collections/exhibitions and 21 lectures including showcases of 12 industrial/institutional partners. The target audience is primarily school pupils and future STEM students introducing them to a variety of RM related professions under study programmes of the University of Zagreb\, together with career opportunities. Both the university faculties and the industrial partners involved cover the entire raw materials life cycle with expertise in mining\, geology\, chemical technology\, biotechnology\, metallurgy and waste management. Participants from high schools/grammar schools from different Croatian regions (including the coastal region and the eastern Slavonia region) will be invited and their transportation will be covered.
