EIT RawMaterials at Minerals and Materials for a Sustainable Future Conference
11 September 2018 - 13 September 2018
The global increase in demand for renewable energy and a rapid shift toward advanced technologies drives the need for integrated research on raw material extraction and their transformation into products, in the context of the circular economy. This conference seeks to bring together leading scientists from the fields of Earth and materials science, as well as economists and social scientists, to address these challenges in the context of the full value chain: from raw material supply and demand; material distribution, processing, and transformation into products; through to disposal or recycling at the end of life. By bringing together scientists from typically disparate fields, the conference aims to identify novel ways to meet the future demand for minerals and materials, within the framework of sustainability.
