SUMMARY:EIT RawMaterials at the European Conference on Batteries
DESCRIPTION:On 24 November\, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy opened the European Conference on Batteries\, an event taking place within the framework of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the EU. From 24 to 27 November 2020\, stakeholders from industry\, research and policy-making will come together online to discuss developments in the field of batteries and to push ahead with cross-border cooperation. The focus of the event is on the two Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEIs) in the field of batteries. More than 60 companies from across Europe are working together in these two projects to promote innovation and to create new value chains. \nThe conference will also be joined by Maroš Šefčovič\, Vice-President of the European Commission\, Agnes Pannier-Runacher\, the French delegate Minister of industry\, and Stefano Patuanelli\, the Italian Minister of Economic Development. \n26 November\, 14:30-16:00: Session 8 “Mitigating structural transformation”\nBernd Schäfer\, CEO of EIT RawMaterials\, will join Session 8 to give a keynote speech on how EIT RawMaterials contributes to training Europe’s future workforce\, identifies new talents for the EU industrial ecosystems\, and supports young entrepreneurs and business creation. \nIn the second part\, we will invite the members of the EIT RawMaterials Innovation Community. Bernd Schäfer will discuss with Matti Hietanen\, CEO of Finnish Minerals Group\, and Patrick Peter\, CEO of the start-up Circunomics\, the development of the industry and its future needs for talent\, skills\, and investments. \nWe encourage you to follow the conference via a live stream.
