SUMMARY:DIM ESEE 2019: Small Mining Sites
DESCRIPTION:World class deposits are usually the largest in its class\, containing high ore grade\, with a prediction of long life production resulting in a lasting impact on the industry usually under low production cost. \nHow often do we find world-class deposits? Between two and four world-class deposits are found each year in the world. Europe overall hosts only several dozens of world-class deposits\, whereas most of the European deposits are small or intermediate in term of their size and annual revenue. Importantly\, the total number of the deposits and geological occurrences increase exponentially with a decrease in their size. \nUnder the 2019 topic Small mining sites – Innovation in mining DIM ESEE project partners will discuss future and innovation potential for small and intermediate size deposits\, currently representing the vast majority of the European and the ESEE mining industry: \nThe future of EU mining sector\n\nWhat is the future of the European Raw Materials sector?\nWhat is the future of Industrial Minerals?\nWhat is the future of the European Copper Industry?\n\nInnovation in mining\n\nHow do we integrate innovation in education?\nCan we excavate in flooded mines?\nWhat are the uses of geoinformation system\, drones and 3D models in mining?\n\nEU legislation and urban mining\n\nWhat is the current state of mineral policy in EU28?\nCan we excavate without a blasting vibration?\nHow can we predict and avoid surface subsidence?\n\nExploitation: innovation & optimization\n\nBest cases of innovation and optimization implemented by companies within the ESEE region.\n\nFocus on the Cement industry\n\nHow can European lime industry become competitive and efficient?\nHow can we reduce CO2 emission from the lime industry?
