SUMMARY:EIT RawMaterials at the Circular Economy Mapping Week
DESCRIPTION:EIT RawMaterials is happy to announce that our team will participate in the Circular Economy Mapping Week on 7 February in Berlin. \nJulien Frey\, Business Developer at EIT RawMaterials Innovation Hub Central\, will give insights on the knowledge and innovation community in the raw materials sector\, EIT RawMaterials. \nJoin the event here! \nAbout the Circular Economy Mapping Week \nThe Circular Economy Mapping Weekwill take place from the 5-11 February 2018. During this week\, volunteer organisers all over the world will set up group sessions to map the circular initiatives in their cities. The mapping will be done collaboratively in 3 hour-workshops for 20-30 people in over 35 cities. \nThe Mapping Week has two objectives: \n\nBring together circular enthusiasts to discuss and learn about the latest circular initiatives happening in their cities;\nMap out circular initiatives taking place globally and make this information available online and free for all.\n\nIf we all map our cities\, together we can map the world. The Mapping Week will help us all understand what is currently being done\, what works and what else needs to be implemented to grow the circular framework. You can play an important part in this challenge. \nWhy is this useful and who will benefit? \nOne of the challenges in implementing the circular economy framework is understanding what circularity means in practice\,  what is already working and what is not. The Mapping Week helps solve this challenge by gathering as many circular initiatives as possible in an open online directory. \nResearchers will have hundreds of examples to analyse; teachers will have plenty of case studies to use for their classes; students will be able to browse and learn from what is being done; businesses will find sustainable alternatives to solve some of their challenges they face when trying to become more environmentally friendly; startups will be able to understand whether their ideas have a market and are working already somewhere else; governments will have a clear outlook of what is being done in their regions when deciding what needs public support; investors will find projects they can back and help grow.
