SUMMARY:EIT RawMaterials at the 9th International Conference on Life Cycle Management
DESCRIPTION:Towards Sustainable Current Challenges and Prospects in Life Cycle Management\nFirst time in the history of LCM Conferences\, this event will be organised in one of the Central and Eastern European countries – in Poland. The main organisers are Poznan University of Technology\, Poznan University of Economics and Business\, Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences\, Krakow\, and Solaris Bus & Coach. The conference is planned as a four-day meeting and will be held in the Conference & Lecture Center of Poznan University of Technology\, in Campus Piotrowo\, near Warta River. \n\n\n\n\nFor many years\, the series of LCM conferences has been considered as a prestigious discussion forum engaging not only scientists but\, above all\, representatives of business. Nowadays\, in the face of enormous challenges such as the circular economy\, life cycle thinking becomes particularly important and seems to be valid as never before. \nEIT RawMaterials will participate in the LCM 2019. More information will follow soon.

SUMMARY:Electrochemical treatment of industrial waters: techno-economic assessment
DESCRIPTION:This course will provide you with the knowledge about the current electrochemical treatment of industrial waters as well as give the tools to improve and assess water treatment on sites. The effect of electrochemical treatment on the removal of contaminants\, possible application and feasibility studies are discussed during the course. You leave the course with the ready and assessed solution to treat your water streams. \nCourse content \nIn this course\, participants will: \n\nFamiliarise themselves with current application and utilisation of electrochemical treatment at industrial scale\nLearn to identify\, classify and choose contaminants that can be successfully removed to meet the limits by electrochemical methods\nDistinguish the parameters affecting the electrochemical treatment\nLearn to develop and integrate the treatment facility containing electrochemical unit to treat mining waters\nGain skills in evaluating the suitability of electrochemical treatment of waters at various industrial locations\nCompare electrochemical treatment with conventional technologies by means of integrating water balance modelling\n\nThis two-days intensive course covers the following topics: \n1. Introduction to electrochemical processes\na. electrocoagulation\, electrooxidation\, electroreduction\, electro Fenton\, electrodegradation\, electroflotation\n2. Removable contaminants\na. metals\, organic matter\, N-compounds\, cyanide\, sulfate and other anions\n3. Main processes\na. operating conditions and parameters affecting the treatment\n4. Post treatment technologies\na. slurry dewatering opportunities and challenges\n5. Industrial applications and pilot studies\n6. Economic feasibility analysis\na. water management and feasibility of mining\nb. methods and examples for feasibility analysis \nBook your place here.
