SUMMARY:4th ArcHub meeting - Mineral mapping and exploration in the Arctic using remote sensing
DESCRIPTION:Mineral mapping and exploration in the Arctic using remote sensing – efficient exploration methods for inaccessible\, remote and harsh Arctic environments.\nThere will be 3 sessions: \n\nSession 1 – Data acquisition techniques\n\nWhat are the best ways to acquire data in the Arctic\, on a large scale in a time and cost efficient manner (e.g. drones\, boats\, long-range terrestrial scanning\, etc.). \n\nSession 2 –Technical challenges and solutions for data acquisition\, processing and mapping\n\nWhat are the challenges for data acquisition and processing to extract meaningful results in the Arctic regions (short field season\, accessibility\, logistical challenges e.g. costs\, spectral distortions caused by atmospheric effects/shadows/clouds/low sun angle/topography) and what are the best mapping approaches that can be used for detailed quantitative analysis? \n\nSession 3 – Data integration\n\nWhat are the best data to be fused/integrated for mineral mapping and exploration\, geological mapping etc. (space and airborne remote sensing using multi- and hyperspectral sensors\, oblique photogrammetry\, helicopter/UAV/ boat/terrestrial remote sensing data\, LiDAR\, Radar\, geophysical data such as airborne magnetic data\, in situ analysis\, etc.). \nRegistration\nKindly confirm your participation to the ArcHub meeting to Kisser Thorsøe\, GEUS no later than Tuesday\, 13 November 2018.
