DESCRIPTION:Webinars\, workshops and online games\nRaw Materials Ambassadors at Schools (RM@Schools) is a European project\, which is elaborating strategic planning of dissemination capacity and methodology to improve the image of science & technology in schools by explaining the value of raw materials while promoting new professional careers in this sector. SUMMARY:Western Balkan and the EIT Community - Circular Economy in North Macedonia
DESCRIPTION:Circular Economy Meet Ups in Western Balkan Countries\nThe circular economy concept is of crucial importance to post-COVID recovery. Countries of the Western Balkans are working to improve waste management and could benefit from the circular economy approaches\, which consider systemic interdependencies and go beyond the tendency to look merely at recycling rates. Circular economy is also a pivotal tool for delivering part of the 2050 decarbonisation agenda in Europe. EIT RawMaterials has joined forces with EIT Climate-KIC\, EIT Food\, EIT Health\, EIT Manufacturing\, EIT Digital and EIT Urban Mobility in a joint initiative aimed at bolstering collaboration and enhancing the circular economy approach in the region. \nWe are delighted to announce that\, in collaboration with Belgrade Metropolitan University and Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje\, two Meet Ups will be organised around Circular Economy topics that are equally important to regional actors and to the EU. \nWhere: \nSs. DESCRIPTION:Supporting innovation in primary and secondary raw materials sector in South-East Europe\nLegislative challenges and Social License to Operate in SEE\nWHEN\nTuesday\, 2.12.2021\, 9:00 – 15:00 CET \nWHERE\nLjubljana and online \nWHAT\nThis year’s edition of the flagship raw materials event in the Adria region will focus on the transfer of knowledge and best practices on the topic of Social License to Operate in the raw materials sector. Together with specific legislative challenges\, the acquisition of the Social License to Operate represents one of the major obstacles for the exploration\, mining industry in Europe\, and successful implementation of a circular economy\, all strongly supporting the European industry competitiveness on a global scale. Legislative framework and challenges in the ADRIA countries will be presented by the country-specific cases with the highlight of lessons learned during their implementation.
