SUMMARY:E-waste World 2021
DESCRIPTION:Showcasing Innovation for a competitive and sustainable E-Waste industry\nThe transition to a circular economy is essential in the efforts to reduce dependency on raw materials supply and create sustainable growth. EIT RawMaterials aims to design solutions to close material loops through resource-efficient processing and keeping materials in the society as long as possible using new product design approaches for circularity\, recycling\, reuse\, repairing\, remanufacturing. \nThis year\, EIT RawMaterials\, in collaboration with our partners VEOLIA\, ROSI and Flaxres will be joining E-Waste World Conference & Expo 2021 that will take place as an in-person event in Frankfurt on 30 November – 1 December 2021. E-Waste World will gather companies active in recycling sharing the vision of closing the loop on the global E-Waste challenge. \nE-Waste World will bring together many globally renowned experts to discuss key challenges like recycling of lithium-ion batteries from e-mobility transportation\, PV panels\, IoT\, 5G and much more. The 2019 conference welcomed over 1\,000 participants including manufacturers and suppliers\, recyclers\, science and academia\, policy-makers\, NGOs and research institutions. \nEIT RawMaterials will present opportunities for innovation\, education\, and entrepreneurship across European industrial ecosystems. At the booth\, EIT RawMaterials’ partners Veolia\, ROSI and Flaxres will be showcasing a sustainable solution for the high-grade PV module recovery value chain: The ReProSolar innovation project aims at demonstrating a highly efficient and dedicated industrial-scale process to recycle EoL (end-of-life) PV-modules by implementing innovative technologies. \nMeet EIT RawMaterials and partners to discuss sustainable solutions for a globally competitive and resilient future of Europe. Join us at E-Waste World Conference & Expo 2021! \nHere you will find the detailed conference program. The exhibition is free to attend.

SUMMARY:Western Balkan and the EIT Community - Circular Economy in Serbia
DESCRIPTION:Circular Economy Meet Ups in Western Balkan Countries\nThe circular economy concept is of crucial importance to post-COVID recovery. Countries of the Western Balkans are working to improve waste management and could benefit from the circular economy approaches\, which consider systemic interdependencies and go beyond the tendency to look merely at recycling rates. Circular economy is also a pivotal tool for delivering part of the 2050 decarbonisation agenda in Europe. EIT RawMaterials has joined forces with EIT Climate-KIC\, EIT Food\, EIT Health\, EIT Manufacturing\, EIT Digital and EIT Urban Mobility in a joint initiative aimed at bolstering collaboration and enhancing the circular economy approach in the region. \nWe are delighted to announce that\, in collaboration with Belgrade Metropolitan University and Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje\, two Meet Ups will be organised around Circular Economy topics that are equally important to regional actors and to the EU. \nWhere: \nBelgrade Metropolitan University\, Serbia \nWhen: \n30 November 2021 in Belgrade \nRegistration Deadline: 28 November 2021 \nHow \nThe Meetup will be organized online creating a unique networking opportunity combined with keynote insight and conversation booster speeches delivered by local experts and authorities and leading experts from the raw materials\, agri-food\, and digital sector. \nGet more information and learn about the Belgrade event. \nDo not hesitate to contact tina.benda@eitrawmaterials if you have any questions.
