SUMMARY:Short Course - Raw materials and water treatment
DESCRIPTION:Superior understanding of water management related issues in order to ensure the proper specification of a successful solution for a given application is required in nearly any business. \nRaw materials and water treatment based on membrane technology\nIn the raw materials sector\, where water is one of the most important resources interacting with different steps of the value-added chain\, this includes the knowledge about the possibilities and limitations of the different water treatment processes. Thereby membrane processes are of special interest\, as in general very reliable and resource efficient solutions can be made available. SUMMARY:CICERONE workshop: Circular Europe - the future of circular economy programming
DESCRIPTION:Last year\, EIT RawMaterials achieved its first Horizon2020 project CICERONE in Circular Economy and became a member of one of the four consortia selected by DG Environment supporting Green Growth and Circular Economy. On 26 February\, we invite you to join the CICERONE workshop to discuss the future of circular economy programming! The event is organised during the World Resources Forum conference in Antwerp\, Belgium. \nThe European Commission’s package in Circular Economy has enabled an exposition of initiatives in Europe\, but the outcomes of research and innovation are not fully exploited and promoted at European level. Circular businesses and projects are fragmented\, making international synergies difficult – and it has become more and more apparent that joint programming is a must to optimise impact. \nThis 90 minute session will identify gaps and challenges to optimise circular economy programming across Europe\, bringing together key stakeholders including programme owners\, researchers and businesses to build a platform for efficient circular economy. SUMMARY:EIT RawMaterials Community at GERRI Roundtable discussion: Can Europe afford to lose its metals?
DESCRIPTION:Towards an effective Circular Economy for raw materials\nIs the European recycling infrastructure sufficient for providing metals and other raw materials in support of the business models of a Circular Economy (CE)? How can we secure the raw materials supply for production in Europe and enhance resource efficiency when dealing with scarce resources?
