DESCRIPTION:Are you a researcher in an EIT RawMaterials Upscaling project / EIT-Label programme research a raw materials related discipline who would like to:\n\n\nIncrease the impact of your research by strengthening your communication and messaging skills?\nObtain vital tools and tips to help you communicate your own research to different target groups ?\nConnect to fellow researchers and experts in EIT RawMaterials Upscaling projects and in the EIT-Labelled programmes?\nSpend two summer days in the UNESCO Heritage City of Goslar\, Germany?\n\nThen you are in luck! EIT RawMaterials\, together with TU Clausthal and RWTH Aachen University\, are organizing Talk Nerdy To Me on 2-4 July 2018 in Goslar\, Germany. \nAt Talk Nerdy To Me\, you and 70-90 other researchers in EIT RawMaterials Upscaling projects and EIT-Label programmes will have the opportunity to come together and learn from leading communication and entrepreneurship experts on how to package\, pitch and present your research to various target groups and audiences. \nTalk Nerdy To Me will be interactive and hands-on. Together in smaller break-out sessions of researchers\, you will apply  the communication tools and practice them on your own research\, obtaining on-the-spot feedback from peers and experts. \nAt the end of Talk Nerdy To Me\, you will have a blueprint and toolbox which will strengthen the communication of your research in the future as well as an enriched\, extended network of fellow raw materials researchers. \nAll transportation\, accommodation and subsistence costs will be covered by the EIT RawMaterials Academy! \nSign up here by 18 May 2018

DESCRIPTION:Discover how design-driven innovation can improve your competitiveness\, efficiency and sustainability\nFollowing the successful implementation of the Design-driven Innovation training session for SMEs held by the EIT in Budapest\, we are co-organising together with the European Commission a new training session in Brussels\, Belgium\, on 3 July. \nThis training is hosted by the EIT House in Brussels. \nDesign-driven-innovation involves the use of traditional and new materials\, of new production tools and processes and of innovative approaches to better meet customer needs. Design is a new point of view about the product/service and is crucial to success for European enterprises. The training session focuses on design as the key feature in strategies to develop an SME today. \nThe course will provide participants with a meaningful view of the benefits and opportunities of design-driven innovation\, with presentations\, case studies and team work in one full day. During the session\, participants will learn and experience: \n\nThe benefits of Strategic Design for SMEs\nShaping your products through Customer-Centred Design\nWhat Design-Driven Innovation means\nDesign Case Studies\nTeamwork on Design-Driven Innovation\nTeamwork on Strategic design for SMEs\n\nIn addition\, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the EIT and its activities in boosting innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe. \nThe course will be held by design and business administration teachers from Milan Politecnico – among the best European universities in these fields. \nThe target group is SMEs and SME intermediaries. \n*The cost-free training is funded by the European Commission (DG GROW). \nFind more details and register here.

DESCRIPTION:Digitisation and raw materials supply are closely intertwined. Without high-tech raw materials\, there will be no future technologies “Made in Germany”. The availability of raw materials is thus becoming a central challenge for Germany as an industrial country. \nAt the 6th “BDI Raw Material Conference” on 3 July 2018 you will have the opportunity to discuss with BDI President Prof. Dieter Kempf\, Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier\, CEO of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd Robert Friedland\, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Canadian Ministry of Natural Resources Karen Rudd and other representatives from politics\, industry\, science and civil society\, how a secure\, responsible and sustainable supply of raw materials can look like. \nThe exhibition in the atrium offers exciting insights into the world of raw materials.
